Natural Habitats scoops 18 award wins at NZ’s preeminent landscape awards

Natural Habitats has once again taken out the most awards at the Registered Master Landscaper recent award ceremony.   Winning 18 awards across the spectrum from residential to commercial, horticulture to landscape design, rooftop gardens and Green Walls, proves Natural Habitats is the premier commercial and residential landscaping company in New Zealand.

Employee Ben Dyson won awards for his outstanding achievement in construction and excellence in innovation in the Young Landscaper of the Year competition.

Brian Spencer, Natural Habitats General Manager says being a multi-award winner is always a thrill for the team. “We work hard at being the best in the business, it’s rewarding to be recognised with award wins that stretch across disciplines and the country.”

One of the more challenging projects was the green walls built at the Westfield Newmarket project. Natural Habitats is recognised as a leader with their bespoke green wall technology, winning Gold in the Special Feature category. The scale of the project was immense, with green walls forming a total area of 750m2. It is the largest green wall development in the Southern Hemisphere, with seven separate greenwalls spread over five levels and including the roof garden and playground. It comprises over 18,000 New Zealand native plants that are irrigated with harvested rainwater and maintained via abseil by Natural Habitats’ specialist team. The client is extremely happy with the results and shoppers have the benefit of experiencing a natural environment while shopping and dining.

Winning so many awards in all the different categories is testament to Natural Habitats work as New Zealand’s leading integrated landscape company.

“We are relied upon to design, deliver and care for some of New Zealand’s most iconic and at times complex projects. It’s always an honour to deliver award winning projects for our clients” says Spencer. “Our dedicated and talented team work hard, so it’s a real boost for them. Nurturing young talent is really important to us, and we are thrilled Ben Dyson was also a winner”.
