Project Manager - Waikato

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Waikato team:

The opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our business in Hamilton for projects across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty. This position is based in Hamilton, where we have our Waikato yard and office, but will take you on the road to our clients around the region.

As a Project Manager your key focus will be on providing direction to 2 – 4 Team Leaders and their Landscapers by ensuring the successful delivery of landscape projects within or above budgeted margins and expectations. You will also empower your Team Leaders, fostering profitable, efficient, and ethical project execution, and build and maintain lasting client relationship.

Key Responsibilities to Cultivate Success:

  • Project Delivery: ensure project deliverables align with client expectations, control costs, develop work programs, strategize corrections for deviations, and promptly address variations with Team Leaders.
  • Client Relations: build, craft and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Leadership: gain commitment from Team Leaders by addressing concerns and establishing non-negotiable objectives, educate team members on deliverables, timelines, budgets and foster a collaborative team environment with open communication.
  • Procurement: adhere to procurement procedures, create schedules, and uphold negotiated pricing, while also analyzing actual quantities against quotes to address overruns and ensuring precise tracking of team hours chargeable to projects.

     

 

About You

Requirements:
  • Strong technical expertise in landscape construction – minimum of five years’ experience within the industry.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding team management capabilities.
  • Strong experience in managing project budgets and estimates.

 

Advantageous but not essential
  • It is advantageous if you have a Project Management, Landscape / Horticulture or Construction qualification.
