Research shows pools add 10 to 16% in value to property

Want to add value to your property? Installing a pool is a great return says real estate research agency, Secret Agents in a recent edition of Splash magazine. The Secret Agents’ research of 10 suburbs in Melbourne found that swimming pools on average can add between 10 per cent and 16 per cent to the value of a house.

Researching into three to five bedroom houses for a more realistic representation of a pool’s value, they found the lowest expected value created being approximately $140,000 – with some drawing an extra $450,000.

According to Splash, Secret Agent says that a swimming pool can be a wonderful addition, satisfying our instinctive need to be close to water.
