Sam Parkes

Sam has experience in a variety of landscape projects that include commercial developments, street-scapes, public open spaces, urban design, environmental rehabilitation and award winning residential design. He is particularly interested in exploring creative solutions at the master plan/concept level and the detailed design of the spaces created thereafter.

In addition to this landscape experience, Sam has also spent two years in Dubai as part of a Project Management firm responsible for the delivery of a high profile development.

He developed his own personal property, including architecture and landscape design, material procurement, council planning, and cost and construction management. Furthermore, he has also lectured a studio paper at Unitec for the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture students, developing his management and leadership skills, while exploring progressive concepts of design.

The combination of the above background has given Sam a unique set of skills capable of leading a project from creative concepts to construction completion and the required management throughout. This includes understanding what the construction and cost implications are during the creative process, the ability to co-ordinate with other consultants and where the important cross-overs occur, and utlizing his people mangement skills to delegate tasks and track actions.

Sam received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Unitec New Zealand in 2005 and is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects.
