Landscape Installation
Western Springs, Auckland
Encompassing a fifth of the Zoo's 17ha footprint, Te Wao Nui offers both locals and tourists a truly unique and immersive experience of New Zealand's animals, plants and culture. The new development features six distinct habitats; The Coast, The Islands, The Wetlands, The Night, The Forest, and The High Country.
Natural Habitats installed many of the 100 native New Zealand plant species as well as the mulch and pebble and automated irrigation systems in the Island Sanctuary, Native Encounter (kiwi enclosure), Southern Highlands and Wetland landscapes. In the Southern Highland area our teams individually placed the large boulders that define this rugged alpine environment.
Te Wao Nui is a celebration of New Zealand explores the past, showcases the present, and focuses on the future - and we are proud to have been involved in this iconic project.
“I wish to express my sincere thanks to you and your team, for the way you have managed the Te Wao Nui landscaping package. You maintained a good positive relationship throughout the duration. It has gone a long way in setting us apart from the rest of the pack.”
