Designed and installed by Natural Habitats more than 15 years ago intensive green roof, enabled Quay West to add an additional five floors to its development, which added $4 million to the property’s value.

This green roof is designed as a miniature version of the harbour it overlooks. Islands of planting and established pohutakawa mimic the form of Auckland’s iconic isles such as Browns Island and Waiheke, and Rangitoto. Streaks of cobalt blue denote navigation lines. The overall geometry and simplicity of materiality gives the roof garden a Zen like allure.
