Our Queenstown branch recently completed the landscape construction of several green roofs totalling over 300m2 at the luxurious Hilton Queenstown at Kawarau Village.

With a reputation for exquisite solutions, Natural Habitats was engaged to supply and install specialised green roof media, selected plant species, drainage matting and filter cloth for all of the the green roofs in the village, and effectively co-ordinated  the project  completing it within tight timeframes.

Our teams worked all four of the hotel’s extensive green roofs. These included;

- A large raised roof with an approximate area of 220m2 and a depth of
  200mm. Planted with brown top and poppy seeds

- A medium sized roof with an approximate area of 80m2 and a depth of
  200mm, planted with small flowering ground cover species

- Two smaller fescue grass roofs with a combined area of 20m2 and a depth
  of 200mm

In each instance we custom designed a light weight roof media to suit the roofs weight loading requirements and provide proper nutrience and drainage for specified vegetation. We will also be carrying out a 12 month maintenance period on each of roofs to ensure the best quality outcome for the design is realised.
