La Calligramme project of national significance

La Calligramme project of national significance

Following on from the completion of the symbolic restoration of the Rangiriri paa, another project of national significance that we have tendered for and won is The French War Memorial garden in Wellington.

To mark the occasion of the one hundredth anniversary of World War I, the memorial will be inaugurated within the Pukeahu National War Memorial Park in Wellington in 2018. Called Le Calligrame, the memorial is being designed by Patterson Architects and is a gift from France to New Zealand to celebrate and bear testimony to the long-lasting friendship and the strong bonds forged between France and New Zealand since the WWI battlefields. A calligram is a text visually arranged in a way that it forms an image associated with the text’s contents.
